TES Performance nitrous bottle
bracket
Supplied by J&W
Motorcycles
Christmas is early this year. At least that's what I thought when
Wayne (Rotty) from J&W
Motorcycles asked me if I needed anything for my bike. As we
all know J&W stock TES Performance bits and one of the numerous
things they do are billet nitrous bottle clamps.
|
Apparantly the bottles
I have aren't a standard size. They're old "Wizard of NOS"
bottles with a 102.5mm diameter so they had to be made one-off.
No problem when Rotty is on the case so when visiting J&W after
the OSS Party he handed me this shiney clamp. |
|
When I got back home the clamp fitted around the bottle perfectly.
Here it's getting used to it's new home.
|
 |
I spent quite some time designing a mounting point
that allowed easy access and removal of the bottle.
The bracket has a protuding lip that prevents the bottle to turn. |
 |
At fabrication time the design changed
a little because Tinie from BikePenR
told me the bracket could be made out of a piece of angular steel
so that we wouldn't have to use the mill. |
 |
Setting the bracket up to be welded
into place. |
 |
Bracket welded into place and bottle
installed. |
 |
To install the bottle is just a matter
of removing the seat, lowering it into place and installing/tightening
the M10 screw. |
 |
The bottle is nicely tucked away (which can be a downpoint if
you're a show-off ;-)
|
 |
The bottle is very close to the nitrous-solenoid
requiring the absolute minimum of high-pressure hose. |
